Hello! (:

Some time in the ancient past I told myself I'd try finding out why some people, ahemmm, are crazy over the Korean culture. Hahah. Admittedly I guess it's hard to deny the fact that there are really stellar individuals and groups in Korea that make the media industry shine.

After a trawl on ever reliable Wikipedia (questionable, after considering the fact that anyone can edit it.), this was what I could come up with:

The Korean wave or Korea fever refers to the significantly increased popularity of South Korean culture around the world since the 21st century, especially among the Net Generation.  The Korean wave is seen as a product of globalization and rise of capitalism in Asia. Advent of giant transnational media corporations in the 1990s lead to development of media technology and simultaneous circulation of media images and texts on a global level. This process prepared a system for the manufacture and circulation of popular culture within Asia. This made circulation of South Korean popular culture in Asia possible, and driven by the appeal of upscale hyper-modern lifestyles that South Korean popular culture provided, the Korean Wave spread among the rising middle-class in Asia and beyond.

It sure is spreading real fast?! Everywhere I turn my head now-a-days, it's Korean music and drama?!

Winter Sonata. Since the first time that a non Chinese/English based entertainment media that was ever played on home TV, years ago, I've got this impression that all Korean Dramas are emotional and teary. Really emotional. But you've got to say also, they're good, real good at what they do. I really enjoy Korean music pieces, some of them. There was this time when 7E had an Yiruma craze too. (:

The Korean pop music and media industry's rise; it's a feat to behold. Nevertheless, you can't possibly take the world by storm with fancy looking poster-people or digitally edited music. I heard this over the Korean drama Mom took on as a pastime recently. And in conclusion, I found it really nice, haha, though I really don't understand most of the language.

Can You Hear Me
The Beethoven Virus OST

I've surmised after thought that we've actually achieved something, having being pitted against universities and tertiary education institutions, of which experience isn't a fair basis of comparison upon. But then again, fourth place isn't a really glorified achievement, it'll be better the next time round.

Nationals, 21/5.
We'll do our best then.
Till then; SPAR! Hahahah. :D
