Remembering.

Heal the world - Michael Jackson

There's A Place In
Your Heart
And I Know That It Is Love
and this place could be Much
Brighter Than Tomorrow

And If You Really Try
You'll Find There's No Need
To Cry
In This Place You'll Feel
That There's No Hurt Or Sorrow

There Are Ways
To Get There
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Little Space
Make A Better Place...

Heal The World
Make It A Better Place
For You And For Me
And The Entire Human Race
There Are People Dying
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Better Place
For You And For Me

If You Want To Know Why
There's A Love That
Cannot Lie
Love Is Strong
It Only Cares For
Joyful Giving

If We Try
We Shall See
In This Bliss
We Cannot Feel
Fear Or Dread
We Stop Existing And
Start Living

Then It Feels That Always
Love's Enough For
Us Growing
Make A Better World
Make A Better World...

Heal The World
Make It A Better Place
For You And For Me
And The Entire Human Race
There Are People Dying
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Better Place
For You And For Me

And The Dream We Were
Conceived In
Will Reveal A Joyful Face
And The World We
Once Believed In
Will Shine Again In Grace
Then Why Do We Keep
Strangling Life

Wound This Earth
Crucify Its Soul
Though It's Plain To See
This World Is Heavenly
Be God'sGlow

We Could Fly So High
Let Our Spirits Never Die
In My Heart
I Feel You Are All
My Brothers

Create A World With
No Fear
Together We'll Cry
Happy Tears
See The Nations Turn
Their Swords
Into Plowshares

We Could Really Get There
If You Cared Enough
For The Living
Make A Little Space
To Make A Better Place...

Heal The World
Make It A Better Place
For You And For Me
And The Entire Human Race
There Are People Dying
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Better Place
For You And For Me

Heal The World
Make It A Better Place
For You And For Me
And The Entire Human Race
There Are People Dying
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Better Place
For You And For Me

Heal The World
Make It A Better Place
For You And For Me
And The Entire Human Race
There Are People Dying
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Better Place
For You And For Me

There Are People Dying
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Better Place
For You And For Me

There Are People Dying
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Better Place
For You And For Me

You And For Me
Make it a better place
You And For Me
Heal the world we live in
You And For Me
Save it for our children

"Think about our next generation, think of making it better for our children, and the children of our children, and how we can make it into a better place." Really heartwarming statement by a child from a Third-World country at the start of this wonderful song. Though born into less fortunate backgrounds than most of us now are in, what they've experienced, has really shaped and molded them into maturity in thought. It is not always in the best of conditions that we find the most outstanding of people, right? (:
---

Things, at times, even though long gone, call it expired even, are remembered. Little marks, left behind, faint whisperings and traces of the past that one associates with. They're not the footprints in the sand we leave behind, their existence vulnerable to the crashing waves which threaten to devour them, instead, carvings etched in the bedrock, in the hearts of people.

Ironic, isn't it, that more often than usual things/people are remembered most only after they've left our sides. Think back to philosophers, mathematicians, famous actors/singers, yeah, the list goes on..

To be remembered by many others. Some find it a hassle, some find it the highest level of pride and glory, to be etched deeply in the minds of others. I've heard of different people, those whom after life want to make their departures a grandeur event, whilst others want to leave this world silently. We're all born of the same people, yet we've different, different dreams. And which would you prefer to be; one who leaves your legacy, your mark, or the other persona? (:

I've learnt..

I'd say I saw this somewhere. Really meaningful, some encapsulates our daily life experiences. We've learnt, much till this point of time, we've more to learn down the long road ahead; but what could be better than sharing? (:

I've Learned:

I've learned-
That you cannot make someone love you, all you can do is be someone who can be loved. The rest is up to them that no matter how much I care, some people just don't care back.
I've learned-
That it takes years to build up trust, and only seconds to destroy it. That it's not what you have in your life but who you have in your life that counts.
I've learned -
That you can get by on charm for about fifteen minutes. After that, you better know something. That you shouldn't compare yourself to the best others can do. That you can do something in an instant that will give you heartache for life.
I've learned-
That it's taking me a long time to become the person that I want to be. That you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see them.
I've learned-
That you can keep going long after you can't. That we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel.
I've learned-
That either you control your attitude or it controls you. That regardless of how hot and steamy a relationship is a first, the passion fades and there had better be something else to take its place.
I've learned-
That heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences. That money is a lousy way of keeping score.
I've learned-
That my best friend and I can do anything or nothing and have the best time. That sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you are down will be the ones to help you get back up.
I've learned-
That sometimes when I get angry I have the right to be angry, but it doesn't give me the right to be cruel. That true friendship continues to grow over the longest distance, and the same goes for true love.
I've learned-
That just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have. That maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had and what you've learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you've celebrated.
I've learned-
That you should never tell a child their dreams are unlikely or outlandish. Few things are more humiliating, and what tragedy it would be if they believed it. That no matter how good your friend is, they're going to hurt you every once in a while, and you must forgive them for that.
I've learned-
That it isn't always good enough to be forgiven by others. Sometimes you must learn to forgive yourself. That no matter how bad a heart is broken; the world doesn't stop for your grief.
I've learned-
That our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for whom we become. That just because two people argue, it doesn't mean that they don't love each other, and just because they don't argue, it doesn't mean they do.
I've learned-
That we don't have to change friends, if we understand that friends change. That two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally different.
I've learned-
That your life can be changed in a matter of hours by people who don't even know you. That even when you think you have no more to give, when a friend cries out to you, you will find the strength to help.
I've learned-
That credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being.
¢¾that the people you care about the most in life are taken from you too soon ¢¾
I've learned-
That it¡¯s hard to determine where to draw the line between being nice and not hurting someone¡¯s feelings or standing up for what you believe. That no matter what happens to me on earth or how much my faith falters, God's faith in me never dwindles or fails.
I've learned-
That life's lessons never end and wisdom can always be passed on. (:

One whom is worthy of love, finds it within grasp.
For it is the being willing to sacrifice, for the happiness of others;
One who is willing to at times live unhappily, just to put a smile on the face of others;
Tolerant and selfless in the pursuit of love, that deserves commendation.

Only in certain circumstances we realize, the magnitude, the depth, the extent of love, we are showered and blessed with. Yet we are powerless, sometimes to alleviate their share of problems, share the burden the other is taxed with, or even feel enough to reciprocate their unselfish love.

What exactly is this emotion, called love, which fuels the hearts of many?
问世间,情为何物?

Parental love; it’ll always be something, that I’ll be eternally grateful, and thankful, for. (:

If you're lazy, you compare your self with the worst. If you're hard working, you compare your self with the best. If you're happy however, people compare themselves with you.

Optimism.

Michael is the kind of guy you love to hate. He is always in a
good mood and always has something positive to say. When
someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, "If I
were any better, I would be twins!"

He was a natural motivator. If an employee was having a bad
day, Michael was there telling the employee how to look on the
positive side of the situation.

Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up to
Michael and asked him, "I don't get it! You can't be a positive
person all of the time. How do you do it?"

Michael replied, "Each morning I wake up and say to myself,
'Mike, you have two choices today. You can choose to be in a
good mood or you can choose to be in a bad mood.' I choose to
be in a good mood.

"Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim
or I can choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it.

"Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to
accept their complaining or I can point out the positive side of
life. I choose the positive side of life."

"Yeah, right, it isn't that easy," I protested.

"Yes, it is," Michael said. Life is all about choices. When you
cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose
how you react to situations. You choose how people will affect
your mood. You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. "The
bottom line is: It's your choice how you live life."

I reflected on what Michael said. Soon thereafter, I left the tower industry to start my own business. We lost touch, but I often thought about him when I made a choice about life instead of reacting to it.

Several years later, I heard that Michael was involved in a
serious accident, falling some 60 feet from a communications
tower. After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care,
Michael was released from the hospital with rods placed in his
back.

I saw Michael about six months after the accident. When I asked
him how he was, he replied, "If I were any better, I'd be twins.
Wanna see my scars?"

I declined to see his wounds, but did ask him what had gone
through his mind as the accident took place. "The first thing that went through my mind was the well being of my soon-to-be-
born daughter," Michael replied. "Then, as I lay on the ground, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live or I could choose to die. I chose to live."

"Weren't you scared? Did you lose consciousness?" I asked.

Michael continued, "The paramedics were great. They kept
telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me
into the ER and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors
and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read 'He's a dead man.' I knew I needed to take action."

"What did you do?" I asked. "Well, there was a big burly nurse
shouting questions at me," said Michael. "She asked if I was
allergic to anything. 'Yes,' I replied. The doctors and nurses
stopped working as they waited for my reply. I took a deep
breath and yelled, 'Gravity.' Over their laughter, I told them, 'I am choosing to live. Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead'."

Michael lived, thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude. I learned from him that every day we have the choice to live fully. Attitude, after all, is everything.

Hold on to naught, but our dreams and hopes alone,
And with them in hand, we'll progress towards greatness.
Learn to move on, and not take things for granted,
For the best do fall at times.
But only the very best, stand up tall, dust their pants from the fall, and walk off towards the rising sun. (:

I like the rain. Heavy, heavy downpours.
I like the crashing sound of thunder.
I like the flashes of lightning.

Rain, it makes you realize, how much of a pittance are you; a minute, small character in the great reservoir of life. Only when drenched from head to toe comes the fact, that we're actually little pawns in this great game. But it's not all.

1)The rain brings you back to reality. The cold, pelting raindrops, they remind you of what you are here for; for it it a wake-up slap, or call it a friendly reminder, that we still have mileage to cover, that the journey is not over.
2)The rain nourishes the soul, cleanses the dirt off one's environment. For only after the harshest of thunderstorms, comes the beautiful rainbow.

3) The rain too, reminds you that you are not alone. For always beside you there would be people, friends, family, offering you genuine concern, to be ready with an umbrella, to shelter, and accompany you through the rest of the storm.

暴风雨过后, 总会是雨过天晴, isn't it right? (:

A laugh is the best way to start, carry on, end the day. Heh. Sexism at its peak. Guys only.

We always hear "the rules" from the female side. Now here are the rules
from the male side. These are our rules! Please note ... these are
all numbered '1' ON PURPOSE!

1. Learn to work the toilet seat. You're a big girl. If it's up, put it down. We need it up, you need it down. You don't hear us complaining about you leaving it down.

1. Shopping is NOT a sport. And no, we are never going to think of it that way.

1. Crying is blackmail.

1. Ask for what you want. Let us be clear on this one: Subtle hints do not work! Strong hints do not work! Obvious hints do not work! Just say it!

1. Yes, and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question.

1. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it.
That's what we do. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.

1. A headache that lasts for 17 months is a problem. See a doctor.

1. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument.
In fact, all comments become null and void after 7 days.

1. If you won't dress like the Victoria's Secret girls, don't expect
us to act like soap opera guys.

1. If you think you're fat, you probably are. Don't ask us.

1. If something we said can be interpreted two ways, and one of the
ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one.

1. You can either ask us to do something or tell us how you want it
done. Not both. If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.

1. Whenever possible, please say whatever you have to say during commercials.

1. Christopher Columbus did not need directions and neither do we.

1. ALL men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings. Peach, for example, is a fruit, not a color. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no idea what mauve is.

1. If it itches, it will be scratched. We do that.

1. If we ask what is wrong and you say "nothing," we will act like nothing's wrong. We know you are lying, but it is just not worth
the hassle.

1. If you ask a question you don't want an answer to, expect an answer you don't want to hear.

1. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is fine.
Really.

1. Don't ask us what we're thinking about unless you are prepared to discuss such topics as baseball, the shotgun formation, or monster
trucks.

1. You have enough clothes.

1. You have too many shoes.

1. I am in shape. Round is a shape.

1. Thank you for reading this; Yes, I know, I have to sleep on the couch tonight, but did you know men really don't mind that, it's like
camping.

"If you have an apple and I have an apple and we exchange these apples then you and I will still each have one apple. But if you have an idea as well, and we exchange these ideas, then each of us will have two ideas.” Don't be scared of having your ideas stolen by others when you share it with them. Having people hear your ideas will spark criticism and contribution within them, only strengthening your own thoughts and counter-argumentation.

- George Bernard Shaw

The first time I saw this, guess what came to mind.

This is cool, bit offensive though:
Check out these quotes with the most romantic first line but least romantic second line. Enjoy ((:

***

I love your smile, your face, and your eyes

Damn, I'm good at telling lies!

***

My darling, my lover, my beautiful wife:

Marrying you screwed up my life.

***

I see your face when I am dreaming.

That's why I always wake up screaming.

***

Oh loving beauty, you float with grace

If only you could hide your face.

***

Kind, intelligent, loving and hot

This describes everything you are not.

***

I want to feel your sweet embrace

But don't take that paper bag off of your face.

***

My love, you take my breath away.

What have you stepped in to smell this way?

***

Love may be beautiful, love may be bliss

But I only slept with you, because I was pissed.

***
My feelings for you no words can tell

Except for maybe "Go To Hell".

***

Roses are red, violets are blue, sugar is sweet, and
so are you.

But the roses are wilting, the violets are dead, the
sugar bowl's empty and

so is your head

***

What inspired this amorous rhyme?

Two parts vodka, one part lime.
