Cheer up, my friend.

That which does not kill me, only postpones the inevitable.
That which does not kill me, only makes me stronger.
Ambition.
'I want a big car, a big house, a well paying job when I grow up!'
I will always distinctively remember what my childhood dreams were. Childish, outlandish, mundane, common, boring, label them as you may, everyone has their ambitions. I have childhood buddies, who are sportsmen wannabes, dreams of being the president. Let them dream, for it is, definitely, a start to something bigger.
And as we grow, our ambitions change. To things greater. Things closer to our hearts. Ambitions, now filled with a sliver of maturity of age. No single ambition, however should be taken lightly, or should be put down, young or old. For I believe, that everyone has his worth, and is entitled to his believes. It is not wrong to have desires, dreams and aspirations, my friend. He who does not have one, is nothing but a shell. I'm sure you get that. Nor should one fear failure, or rejection, and allow it to be his downfall. If you have that particular wish, desire, chase it, my friend, pursue it. Why be afraid to fail, only to stand and watch the prize falling into the hands of another? Why not be the winner? Why repeat the mistakes of people in the past whom have failed, and choose to concede even before the battle's begun, back down even before the jury's decided the outcome? Don't be disheartened, and give up here. If you've set your eyes on the goal, go for it.
戏剧收尾,谁不希望?
Yeah, it's true, life isn't always fair. A happy ending- whom doesn't wish for one? No one is telling nor putting you under compulsion to do anything against your principles. After all, what's wrong with giving it a shot? Friends would understand. And tell yourself after the whole episode is over, that, hey, I've tried, and I will not regret it.
Agony.
The main part of your misery, the fear. Fear of whom and what, of which you are clearest. Don't look down on yourself, don't put down your potential, not underestimate your own worth. For through your own eyes, you may be worth only 10 points, but in the eyes of another, perhaps, many times of that? You've set your heart and mind towards that target. You've debilitated. Had sleepless hours thinking, wishing for the other's well being and safety. Why not, give it a try?
What I've learnt, keeping emotions in check on the outside; it's only a bare facade, you're crumbling beneath. Rein in the horses, or set them free. It's do, or die. Grab the opportunity, or forget. If you're determined to release that particular emotional package, so be it. Do not, however, immerse yourself in needless troubles and worries, or live in misery and longing. You're just adding a misery factor to your otherwise normal daily life.
Adversity.
Who said life was ever smooth-sailing? To a small minority, perhaps. But not everyone gets that privilege. Adversities, obstacles are aplenty, throughout our attempts at success. Think of it as a maze, you start, with the target in mind. You have to pass different obstacles, meet dead ends. But if you try hard and long enough, perhaps you'll succeed of getting out, and winning the prize. What I feel, you shouldn't, let anything come into your way, since you'd already made up your mind. The road will be hard, but you'll have people beside you all the way, I'm certain.
This is for you, my friend, cheer up.
' When you feel like giving up, remember why you held on for so long in the first place '

My Christmas List, Simple Plan. (:
Santa is coming tonight
And I want a car, and I want a life
And I want a first class trip to Hawaii
I want a lifetime supply
Of skittles & slurpees and Eskimo pies
I want a DVD,
A big screen TV
Just bring me things that I don't need
[CHORUS:]
'Cuz now it's Christmas
And I want everything
I just can't wait
Christmas
So don't stop spending
I want a million gifts, that's right
Don't forget my Christmas list tonight
'Cuz now it's Christmas
Somebody take me away
Or give me a time machine
To take me straight to midnight
I'll be alright
I want a girl in my bed
Who knows what to do
A PlayStation 2
I want a shopping spree
In New York City
Just bring me things that I don't need
[CHORUS]
I wish I could take this day
And make it last forever
And no matter what I get tonight
I want more
It's Christmas and I want everything
I just can't wait
It's Christmas and I want everything now
Christmas
And I want everything
I just can't wait
Christmas
So don't stop spending, I
Want a million gifts,
That's right
And I can't wait 'til midnight
Don't forget my Christmas list tonight
'Cuz now it's Christmas

Dreams.

I'm having weird dreams over the past week, got me thinking. Dreams: -a succession of images, thoughts, or emotions passing through the mind during sleep. |
-the sleeping state in which this occurs. |
-an object seen in a dream. |
Dreams, are often a subconscious reflection of what passes through one's mind, a reflection of perhaps one's innermost fears, or desires. At times, they are viewed as one's sensitivity to the unforetold future. What are they, in fact?

A father asks his 10-year-old son if he knows about the birds and the bees.
"I don't want to know!" the child, bursting into tears. "Promise me you won't tell me!"
Confused, the father asks what's wrong.
"Oh, dad," the boy sobs. "When I was six, I got the 'There's no Santa speech'. At seven, I got the 'There's no Easter Bunny' speech. When I was eight, you hit me with the 'There's no tooth fairy' speech.
"If you're going to tell me that grown ups don't really get laid, I'll have nothing left to live for!"

A psychiatrist was conducting a group therapy session with four young mothers and their small children...
"You all have obsessions," he observed.
To the first mother, Mary, he said, "You are obsessed with eating. You've even named your daughter Candy."
He turned to the second Mom, Ann: "Your obsession is with money. Again, it manifests itself in your child's, Penny."
He turns to the third Mom, Joyce: "Your obsession is alcohol. This too manifests itself in your child's name, Brandy."
At this point, the fourth mother, Kathy, gets up, takes her little boy by the hand and whispers. "Come on, Dick, we're leaving!"

Woman: Is there a problem, Officer?
Officer: Ma'am, you were speeding.
Woman: Oh, I see.
Officer: Can I see your license please?
Woman: I'd give it to you but I don't have one.
Officer: Don't have one?
Woman: Lost it 4 times for drunk driving.
Officer: I see...Can I see your vehicle registration papers please.
Woman: I can't do that.
Officer: Why not?
Woman: I stole this car.
Officer: Stole it?
Woman: Yes, and I killed and hacked up the owner.
Officer: You what?
Woman: His body parts are in plastic bags in the trunk if you want to see.
The Officer looks at the woman, slowly backs away to his car, and calls for back up. Within minutes 5 police cars circle the car. A senior officer slowly approaches the car, clasping his half drawn gun.
Officer 2: Ma'am, could you step out of your vehicle please!
The woman steps out of her vehicle.
Woman: Is there a problem sir?
Officer 2: One of my officers told me that you have stolen this car and murdered the owner.
Woman: Murdered the owner?
Officer 2: Yes, could you please open the trunk of your car, please.
The woman opens the trunk, revealing nothing but an empty trunk.
Officer 2: Is this your car, ma'am?
Woman: Yes, here are the registration papers.
The first officer is stunned.
Officer 2: One of my officers claims that you do not have a driving license.
The woman digs into her handbag and pulls out a clutch purse and hands it to the officer. The officer snaps open the clutch purse and examines the license. He looks quite puzzled.
Officer 2: Thank you ma'am, one of my officers told me you didn't have a license, that you stole this car, and that you murdered and hacked up the owner.
Woman: Betcha the lying bastard told you I was speeding too.

Refuge.
Holiday is spelt v-a-c-a-t-i-o-n, but it is, ending.
And the one out of the only few things I've got out of this holidays is covering thyself with charcoal and a hair dye from all too much sunshine. Black, black, black.
J2 is soon, A's are soon, NS is soon.
Let this refuge last as long and as merrily as possible, before all future troubles tide over.

The sponsor of the sign, Cardura, makes a drug sometimes used to treat enlarged prostates. So, maybe Mr. Stick is happy he's going less often?
Or it could be that Mr. Stick has just passed on and is floating beside his lifeless body. (Probably not the message Cardura hoped to convey.)

Leona Lewis,
Footprints in the Sand.
You walked with me,
Footprints in the sand,
And helped me understand,
Where I'm going,
You walked with me,
When I was all alone,
With so much unknown,
Along the way,
Then I heard you say,
I promise you,
I'm always there,
When your heart is filled with sorrow,
And despair, I'll carry you
When you need a friend
You'll find my footprints in the sand.
I see my life flash across the sky,
So many times have I been so afraid.
And just when I, have thought I lost my way,
You gave me strength to carry on,
That's when I heard you say,
I promise you
I'm always there
When your heart is filled
With sorrow and despair
And, I'll carry you
When you need a friend
You'll find my footprints in the sand.
When I'm with you,
Well I know you've been there,
And I can feel you when you say,
I promise you
I'm always there
When your heart is filled
With sadness and despair
I'll carry you when you need a friend
You'll find my footprints in the sand, I promise you
Ohh, I'm always there.
When your heart is full of
Sadness and despair, and despair
I'll carry you when you need a friend, I'll carry you
You'll find my footprints in the sand.

Thank you. (:

Limits.

Limits: the final, utmost, or furthest boundary or point as to extent.
Often we attribute our futile attempts at our tasks at hand at being chained down by our physical restraints or let our progress be hampered by surrounding influences. Yet, why are people still overcoming their shortcomings and exceeding their limits daily? Do all of us not have a breaking point; a maximum?
I hate it when at my limits, I'm being pushed further; but I know, it's the only way I'll improve.
I hate it when delirious and weary, swimming coach goes '" some more and you will start from 0" I hate that especially.
But I've learnt, it is about not looking back until you reach the end, not pausing, just like the story of Orpheus and Eurydice. Look back and falter halfway, all efforts would be lost, you'd just be consumed, by exhaustion, or otherwise.
I think, the main factor for which people are unwilling to challenge their limits, is fear. The fear of not knowing what would happen if they do. The fear of bad consequences should they over-do their bodily limitations. The fear of failing in attempt to do so. Conquer the fear, conquer your challenges. Of course, know your limits.
If you're on the verge of giving up, wearied, exhausted, struggling, what would drive you forward? Motivations! (:

Leave, without any regrets.
Kris Allen
Sometimes we fall down and can't get back up
we're hiding behind skin that's too tough
how come we don't say I love you enough
till it's to late, it's not too late
Our hearts are hungry for a food that won't come
we could make a feast from these crumbs
and we're all staring down the barrel of a gun
so if your life flashed before you
what would you wish you would've done
Yeah... gotta start
lookin at the hand of the time we've been given here
this is all we got and we gotta start pickin it
every second counts on a clock that's tickin'
gotta live like we're dying
We only got
86 400 seconds in a day to
turn it all around or throw it all away
we gotta tell 'em that we love 'em
while we got the chance to say
gotta live like we're dying
And if your plane fell out of the skies
who would you call with your last goodbyes
should be so careful who we live out our lives
so when we long for absolution
there'll no one on the line
Yeah... gotta start
lookin at the hand of the time we've been given here
this is all we got and we gotta start pickin it
every second counts on a clock that's tickin'
gotta live like we're dying
We only got
86 400 seconds in a day to
turn it all around or throw it all away
we gotta tell 'em that we love 'em
while we got the chance to say
gotta live like we're dying
Like we're dying oh-- like we're dying
We only got 86 400 seconds in a day to
turn it all around or throw it all away
we gotta tell 'em that we love 'em
while we got the chance to say
gotta live -- like we're dying
We never know a good thing till it's gone
you never see a crash until it's head on
all those people right when we're dead wrong
you never know a good thing till it's gone
Yeah... gotta start
lookin at the hand of the time we've been given here
this is all we got and we gotta start livin it
every second counts on a clock that's tickin'
gotta live like we're dying
We only got
86 400 seconds in a day to
turn it all around or throw it all away
we gotta tell 'em that we love 'em
while we got the chance to say
gotta live like we're dying
Like we're dying oh -- like we're dying [x2]
We only got
86 400 seconds in a day to
turn it all around or throw it all away
we gotta tell 'em that we love 'em
while we got the chance to say
gotta live like we're dying
live like we're dying

Play, of the words.
Story of the cucumber and the onion, source unknown.
There lived a cucumber, cool as ever on the outside. Alongside lived a marvelously grown onion, with its many layers. Cucumber and onions were friends, and cucumber often shed tears, unknowingly, for onion, as its took in onion's share of worry and sorrow.
Now one day cucumber seeing onion being in low spirits approached onion and asked: "Onion, what is wrong with you? Do you need some help," and all it got was a 'Yes I'm fine', and a cold shoulder. Cucumber, knowing that it was not the case continued to press on its care and concern for its friend, knowing that he could at least share some of the other's burden. But steadily, his efforts showed to be futile as he was not able to get onion to open up. Besieged by his futile attempts and out of sadness for its friend, cucumber wept quietly and left its friend.
A wise traveller approached cucumber, and asked if anything was wrong. Cucumber gladly shared it's burden with the other.
The traveller thought, and replied: "Well my dear friend cucumber, it is good to be a caring friend and all, but one can't expect to be all knowing and all capable, one after all has his own limits. Be hard and resilient on the outside, face your adversaries and challenges with confidence, but do not be overly soft on the inside; it will only be your downfall. Learn to accept facts as they are, learn from them."
---
Pun: Play of words or a phrase to create a specific effect.
The pun after the story.
#1. Aren't onions many layered kind of vegetables, to be opened up? A person could have many layers too, he could open up in different degrees to different people, ultimately it's his choice.
#2. Don't onions make people tear? People weep for those around them, for what reasons however? Because they sympathize? Because they are unable to offer any aid? Because it is not their fight to win as they watch the other struggle and lose?

#3 Aren't cucumbers always hard on the outside, soft on the inside? "Don't be overly soft on the inside" Fancy that. Is it right for us human beings to feel a sense of compassion, to have a streak of humanity and to care? To some, perhaps not.

Regardless, both cucumber and onions are nice to eat, haha. (:

Even Superman had his share of Kryptonite, why can't anyone have his share of troubles?
Steps.
An elderly man who lived next door came to down to the beach to see what he was doing. “I’m saving the starfish.” The boy proudly declared. When the neighbor saw all of the stranded starfish he shook his head and said, “I’m sorry to disappoint you young man, but if the look down the beach one way, there are stranded starfish as far as the eye can see. And if you look the other way, it’s the same. One boy like you isn’t going to make much of a difference.”
The boy thought about this for a moment. Then he reached his small hand down to the sand, picked up a starfish, tossed it back into the ocean and said, “I sure made a difference for that one”
Always the big picture, but ultimately, small steps take us there (:

Sense making.
- H.G. Wells
---
On the lighter side, whats a day without smiles? (: Gone crazy... Be back soon.
-People have the right to be stupid. Some people abuse that privilege.
-Don't play stupid with me...I'm better at it.
-Just remember... if the world didn't suck, we'd all fall off.
-People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.
-Roses are red violets are blue, God made me pretty, what happened to you?
-People that don't know you think you're shy. People that do know you wish you were.
-The next time you think you're perfect, try walking on water
-It's far better to be pissed off than to be pissed on.
-A wise man once said, "I don't know, go ask a woman."
-I don't need your attitude, I have one of my own
-Are you always this stupid, or are you making a special effort today?
-I like you. You remind me of when I was young and stupid.
-It's not that I'm antisocial. I just don't like you.
-I smile because i have no idea what's going on.
-Please don't interrupt me while I'm ignoring you.
-I think... therefore I'm single.
-Each day I get up in the morning praying to God that everyone should get a friend like you...why should only I have to suffer!
-God made rivers, God made lakes, God made you .... well we all make mistakes
-I talk to myself because I like dealing with a better class of people.
-Don't be so open-minded your brains fall out.
-An expert is someone who takes a subject you understand and makes it sound confusing.
-They say "Guns don't kill people, people kill people." Well I think the guns help. If you stood there and yelled BANG, I don't think you'd kill too many people
-The person who originally said “Never say never” is a hypocrite.
I'm out of my mind right now, but you may leave a message..

Family.
It's all the little things that count, aren't they?
I've realized that through the busy year, as past years have been, we've all too realized it; that as we grow up, we tend to go adrift from close-knit family ties. Not too bad, but slowly floating apart as we adjourn to the magical age of 21. All the little stuff that counts, always all the little stuff that counts.
I've realized how much I've missed my childhood days, where we bask in the sun and laugh all day, where we rode on daddy's shoulder and held mummy's hands. I still miss them. (: Holidays, as the name suggests, is the short reprieve needed by us hardworking people, no thanks to anyone in particular, not even the education system. The short break, time to catch up on family and platonic ties.
Goodness knows when was the last time I had a great work out with dad fixing up the house, or preparing dinner with mum, or even rollerblading with my sister. Why can't we have all the time in the world :D
People use to say, time stretches everything. Ties included. Indeed.
