Formal educational institutions often place heavy emphasis on the assessment of the student performance following the delivery of a set curriculum, so as to ensure that students are effectively and adequately equipped with necessary knowledge and skills for future employment. On the other hand, the learning journey itself has often been perceived as a period of time interspersed with boundless learning opportunities, coupled with constant self-reflection and an open-mind, focusing on learning process seems to be more effective than focusing on earning a degree and gaining employment, in achieving the holistic development of an individual. However, while the unique learning process one experiences contributes to the development of character, the acquiring of soft skills and the gleaning of new insights, it would be myopic to perceive the final outcome of education as any less important and valuable than the process itself.

IN some ways, aren't we all tasked to be people we are not? Defined by societies' standard? Expected to fit the mold, thrust into our faces with the ever so pleasing tag-line: Do or die? It is of course, running away from it all should one choose to exclude oneself, but what could the individual do otherwise? Distort one's perceptions and values, in attempt to accommodate to the unjust stereotyped model one is expected to adhere to? Perhaps, perhaps not. It wouldn't be smart to go against the establishment, would it? Rather than taking camps and causing upheavals, why not take a step back, take yourself out of it? Better, no?

Tomorrow's a new mantra; let it be a new start.
Could it be able everyone settles with something, and move on ahead?
Is it possible, we cross ultimately, the final, finishing line, together?

Impasse.

 I wish I could do what I set out for, at times.
But if doing something warranted only negativity, why in the first place am I setting out for it?

It is definitely human to comment, talk, think, act like how our hearts tell us to.
Some people do it in a more provocative way, some do it in a more concealed manner, it is definitely up to the individual. And yes, although it is admittedly up to the individual to exercise their discretion, would it be unjust to say that 'it is human to err'? I wouldn't know, not that I would be right either, but hey, sometimes, most times, apologies should be taken graciously and matters of the past put behind, as hard as it is to do, though easy to mention? If it were me, definitely, I'll try. And my best at it, too.

Of losing something, someone, somehow or another.
It's a slow, paralyzing poison, as you watch your goals slip out of reach, forever so far.
It's so far, yet so near. And as we grapple and flail around attempting to hold it in place we do realize that though somethings are salvageable, others aren't. Doubt, despair, they start to set it, don't they?
Of what the future holds, how the situation is to be alleviated or possibly, solved.

Courage

Courage is admitting that you're afraid and facing that fear directly. It's being strong enough to ask for help and humble enough to accept it.

Courage is standing up for what you believe in without worrying about the opinions of others. It's following your own heart, living your own life, and settling for nothing less than the best for yourself.

Courage is daring to take a first step, a big leap, or a different path. It's attempting to do something that no one has done before and all others thought impossible.

Courage is keeping heart in the face of disappointment and looking at defeat not as an end but as a new beginning. It's believing that things will ultimately get better even as they get worse.

The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is just that little extra. Promises, plain or extraordinary, are to be kept. And yes, I really wish that they'd be. Here we go.

有这么一句话：“好死不如歹活”，可见生比死好。很多人（特别是一些年轻人）只为了一点芝麻绿豆的小事便嚷着不想活了。

更 有很多人只吃了一点小苦头，便四处哭诉自己的命有多么的苦。

受一点小挫折、吃那么一点苦，算得了什么？

人根本无从选择自 己的命：既然已被父母生了下来，就该好好地生活下去。

其实想一想，生活在新加坡不好吗？

一不小心，命运作弄你，把你生在 非洲，你就是一个被鄙视的黑人；若在科威特，你现在或许还是无家可归；

更糟的是，如果生活在以前的年代，搞不好还落在中国某个暴君的统治 下；或者在德国希特勒的统治下；你说你现在是不是身在福中不知福？

有人这么说过：“我爱我的孩子，所以我不把他们生出来，到这个世界上受 苦。”

真不明白说这话的人，把孩子生下来，命运好坏由得他们自己去闯，至少他们曾来过这世上一趟。若根本没生下来，怎么去爱他们？

既然已被生了下来，何必再怨天怨地？这个世界是公平的。只要你肯闯，肯打拼，总会有收获。

去闯一闯吧，你不难发现这 世上还是美好的。

No, this isn't from myself. But from someone whom I find inspiring, yet close. On this dreary Saturday night/Sunday morning, it's these kind of things that keep me going on. More of what the world needs, over false fronted faces and unscrupulous intents. Really.

High achievers, winners, so to speak.
Don't we all want to take after them, model after their successes, be in their shoes?

Well, it'll be good, for a change. But the thing is perhaps, whilst we think that our life is nothing but a trashy tabloid paper with uninteresting, nonsensical print, whilst we whine, moan and grumble all day our problems and do nothing about it, wouldn't others have their share of worries and troubles as well? I don't know, comparisons are made so often by so many people, I guess we don't see that particular fact anymore. Is it?

On a side note, I'd seen this from a friend, and well, it was really nice.


1. It hurts to love someone and not be loved in return.
But what is more painful is to love someone and never
find the courage to let that person know how you feel.

2. A sad thing in life is when you meet someone who
means a lot to you, only to find out in the end that it was
never meant to be and you just have to let go.

3. The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a
porch swing with, never say a word, and then walk away
feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.

4. It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose
it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been
missing until it arrives.

5. It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an
hour to like someone, and a day to love someone-but it
takes a lifetime to forget someone.

6. Don't go for looks, they can deceive. Don't go for wealth,
even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you
smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day
seem bright.

7. Dream what you want to dream, go where you want to go,
be what you want to be. Because you have only one life and
one chance to do all the things you want to do.

8. Always put yourself in the other's shoes. If you feel that it
hurts you, it probably hurts the person too.

9. A careless word may kindle strife. A cruel word may wreck
a life. A timely word may level stress. But a loving word may
heal and bless.

10. The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best
of everything they just make the most of everything that comes
along their way.

11. Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, ends with
a tear. When you were born, you were crying and everyone
around you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die,
you're the one smiling and everyone around you is crying.
